Call to Prayer – Nov 2019

 Dear Prayer Warriors

Once again the Lord Jesus is reminding us that our faith and trust must be in Him and in Him alone. He is highlighting the main problems in our moving forward into what He has already prepared for WTC. There are divisions and fractions amongst us. We criticise and judge one another and are still clinging to many of our old ways.

Don’t look back, stay on the path that Lord has prepared, then you will have a long and prosperous life in the land you are about to enter and occupy, (Deut 5:33).  But this is a choice for all of us and we have been given some very clear warnings, if we choose to obey, are we willing to move deeper with Jesus and get on with the work in WTC.

Are we willing to grow together in Jesus, growing in unity and seeing one another as Jesus does? Are we willing to not just read what God is saying through all of us from the call to prayer day, but act on it? Are we willing to take the headings and make them a real way of speaking to Jesus in prayer every day and also for WTC as we move forward with the Lord Jesus?

What an amazing God we have. He speaks very clearly and is willing to give us the choice to choose to follow Him and pray according to the will of God our Father. Will you choose to follow Jesus in WTC and use these words to bring about God’s purpose in your own life and also in WTC?

blessings Maureen

You are the King of glory. Hosanna to the son of David.

An old fashioned book, a feather quill writing on a blank page, the words,

“Be still and know that I am God”.

God is stable, He never changes. We are unique to Him.

Trust: Picture: A person climbing a rope ladder, each step the ladder moves down, again and again, so the person is getting nowhere. A hamster is in a wheel running on the spot. The words, “be still and know that I am God”. God puts his finger on top of the ladder so it stays still, easy to climb.

Matthew 6:34 – Do not worry

Stay focused on today. And Acts 2:28 Practice the presence of God.

The quote from ‘Lion witch and wardrobe’ is “He’s not a tame Lion, but He is good”  also … The animated version of the pilgrim’s progress was showing today at the cinema.. God is still superior!! EL SHADDAI

Picture:  Reed bed, it is still.   You can only see when the wind is blowing because of the movement of reeds.  The wind is like the Holy Spirit, who we don’t see except through the change he brings to people.

John 5:9 – Jesus reminds us he only does what His Father does.

Picture:  Somebody peeling carrots. Jesus says I only want peeled carrots, I don’t want grated carrots.   A gentle peeling, don’t take too much off.

All carrots are different, some have a blemish which needs cutting out, some only need a light scrub to get rid of the dirt. Only God knows what needs to be removed and we shouldn’t over peel.   No rules or assumptions listen and observe.

2 Corinthians 6:7 – “By [speaking] the word of truth, in the power of God, with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand [to attack] and for the left hand [to defend]”

Psalm 91:4-8 “He will cover you with his feathers, he will shelter you with his wings, his faithful promises are your armour and protection, do not be afraid of the terrors of the night nor the arrow that flies in the day, do not dread the disease that stalks in the darkness You will not be afraid of the terror at night, nor of the arrow that flies by day. Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, those evils will not touch you, just open your eyes and see how the wicked are punished.”

Philippians 3:9b – “But possessing that [genuine righteousness] which comes through faith in Christ (the Anointed One), the [truly] right standing with God, which comes from God by [saving] faith”

Isaiah 55:10-11. “Just as rain and snow descend from the skies and don’t go back until they’ve watered the earth, Doing their work of making things grow and blossom, producing seed for farmers and food for the hungry, So will the words that come out of my mouth not come back empty-handed. They’ll do the work I sent them to do; they’ll complete the assignment I gave them.”

Picture: A canoe being paddled up river, rapids everywhere. The person in the boat is working so hard to keep afloat and moving. Then I heard the Lord say “Ship the oars and let me guide the boat!”

Isaiah 17:7,8 – not relying on the work of our hands but on the Lord.

Isaiah 49:2 – hidden in the Lord’s hand as his arrow.

2 Cor. 10:4 -5 AMP “The weapons of our warfare are not physical (weapons. Of flesh and blood)  Our weapons are divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses: We are destroying sophisticated arguments and every exalted and proud thing that sets itself up against the true knowledge of God”

NASB – cease striving.

AMP – recognise, understand.

CEB – that’s enough.

CSB – stop your fighting.

Word: Where there are factions, there are fractures. Pray for wholeness in WTC and  healing for where there is division.

1 Thessalonians 5:12-21. “Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. Rejoice always,  pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.”

Picture: of a pointing finger & scripture from Isaiah 58 –  True fasting (especially V9(b) -10) “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter – when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?

Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard. Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: here am I. ‘If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk, and if you spend yourselves on behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundation you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.”

Paper folded someone trying to cut through to show outline of person. On opening should depict cut out figures that are all joined by hands.

Word unless we agree! How can we walk together?

Word – Jesus wants to offer us FRESH food, newness. God wants us to move into the new that He is doing, leave the past behind.

Word -Don’t do more, don’t look back, do what God is asking you to do.

Strip down to the basics

Believers Are Salt and Light

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand and it gives light to all who are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16

John 1:5 “light shines in the darkness”

Isaiah 41:10 “Fear thou not for I am with you”

Colossians 3:9-11 – “Don’t lie to one another. You’re done with that old life. It’s like a filthy set of ill-fitting clothes you’ve stripped off and put in the fire. Now you’re dressed in a new wardrobe. Every item of your new way of life is custom-made by the Creator, with his label on it. All the old fashions are now obsolete. Words like Jewish and non-Jewish, religious and irreligious, insider and outsider, uncivilized and uncouth, slave and free, mean nothing. From now on everyone is defined by Christ, everyone is included in Christ.”

KEEP ON GOING look up, get up… Don’t become weary in doing good.

Word – Time to clear the desk and get passionate, about the new thing that God wants to do

Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

Word – how hungry and thirsty are My people in WTC for My righteousness?

Word – I am your God and this battle belongs to me, I haven’t lost a battle yet.

1 Cor. 16:13 – “Be on your guard, stand firm in the faith, be men of courage be strong”

Deuteronomy 5:33 NLT -“Stay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow, then you will live long and prosperous lives in the land you are about to enter and occupy”

Genesis 19:26 (Lot’s wife wide looked back)

Matthew 3:10 – “The axe is already at the root of the tree, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and throw into the fire.”

Matthew 3:11-12. “I baptise you with water for repentance.  But after me will come one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry.  He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing-floor, gathering his wheat in to the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

 Believers Are Salt and Light

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavour, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.” Matthew 5:13

Warning: Hold firmly to the Cross – for my shaking is fierce and deceit of enemy is widespread.

Word – God doesn’t call qualified people, He qualifies whom He calls.

Picture- A well and a bucket, the bucket is used to draw water from the well. You draw water from the well out of my provision, but how deep, there’s much more deep living water. God is saying, are you ready for more? Are you preparing for more? Intentionally lower your bucket into the deep to get the best provision for each one. Not ALONE but TOGETHER! You can’t give out what you haven’t got. People will see Jesus’ reflection in us. Go deeper together – UNITY. Charity begins from home. He wants to transform us, reflect from us to change other people. We need to lower our bucket to go DEEP!

Picture – A large field, there’s a large gap before the luscious green trees, etc. Picture of abundance of life and greenery but there is a distance that has to be covered first.

John 12:32 “But I when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself.”

Matthew 5:3-16; especially verse 6

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

Jeremiah 29:13 – “And you will seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart.”

Isaiah 60:1-2 (The Message) “Get out of bed , Jerusalem , wake up, put your face in the sunlight Gods bright glory has risen for you: The whole earth is wrapped in darkness, but God rises on you, his sunshine glory breaks over you, nations will come to your light, kings to your sunburst brightness, look up, look around watch as they gather, watch as they approach you, your sons coming from great distances, your daughters carried by their Nannies, when you see them coming you you’ll smile big “

Psalm 3:5-6 “lie down and sleep, I wake again because the Lord sustains me, I will not fear the tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side”

Psalm 103:10–14 “(The Lord is gracious to us, does not repay according to our sins. His ways are high above ours!)”

Isaiah 28:16 (1Peter 2:6 and warning verses 7-8) “Behold I lay in Zion, as stone for a foundation, A tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation.”

Ephesians 6 v 10 – 20 “Put on the armour of God!”

Songs:His banner over me is love. More love, more power.

Picture: A massive mountain, we are walking together on it, holding hands. Walking, not climbing. We are walking on this mountain, not in our own strength but in HIS strength and TOGETHER. Not in our own strength and not on our own.

Picture:  of a sphere reflecting the light.

Sense that the mirror images are people working together in unity & being a true reflection of the Lord

Mathew 5:14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven”

Picture- A long train with lots of coaches one after the other, full of people.  People are invited to get on. Once they are on the rails are set in place and people can’t go wrong.

Psalm 84:5-7 – “Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baka, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.”

As we did the opening prayers we had a sense that we were joining a large group around Jesus all working together with him in our praying.

Picture of transformers – we are all being transformed and armoured to work together.

Picture: a large village pond silted up and in need of lots of tender loving care. Plenty of people ready and willing to work at removing pond weed, silt etc. Once the work was done the pond was beautiful and a great place for wildlife.

Picture of a tree decimated by fire but as soon as there is rain the new buds begin to form and grow (something like Isaiah 35)

We felt these spoke about a need for renewal and unity and we prayed into that for our branch, using the four areas.

Picture contrasting the patterns made by a ‘Spirograph’ (which can only move in limited ways), with the freedom of using a sewing machine with the foot lifted so the needle can go wherever it is. Guided and make wonderful free patterns. This spoke to us of a new freedom to be used by God in unity, to empower each other.
